![]() ![]() I'd like to know if any of you have it too and what's been your experience. So this is an easy option to play on TV for a very low price. I also got the great MAME4droid which is -obviously- another great gaming experience! Only a problem with some games with no joystick option nor chance of selecting keys (911 TS is an example). In these cases, I use Xpectroid, that goes well with any game with joystick or redefine keys. The problem with Spectacol is I can only use the cursor joystick option and it seems it doesn't recognise the kempston joystick for the controller yet. I play with a PS4 controller, which is awesome. So after all this, I have the TV as another option to play Spectrum games, along with phone, tablet, PC, NDS, N3DS or even with my real Speccy! Spectaculator works also ok, but it doesn't recognize me as a registered user, so I can't play my own files. There are others apps that don't work (not compatible with Android TV is the reason in most cases). Marvin runs ok too, but I can't use any controller or keyboard as the app runs only with touch screens. This is fully compatible with Android TV. The first emulator that turns up is Spectacol. Once you get it, run it and search for any apk currently available in Google's. I presume there are many, but I was advised to get Aptoide. The Fire Stick runs on a special Android TV OS that can't access directly to Google Play Store, only to the amazon App market, so you need an Amazon app in order to get the apps available in Google's Play Store. When looking for info about this gadget on YT I came across a video about installing Android apps to watch or play on the TV so the logical thought was: why not search for Spectrum emulators to play games on a big telly? The stick lets you connect bluetooh keyboards and game controllers so that wouldn't be a problem. So when I got the stick, I plugged in the TV (via HDMI) and solved the problems I had by installing the corresponding apps for a better TV experience. That's the problem of having a very good but technically obsolete TV (I got in in 2013). The first intention was use it with a 42'' TV, Panasonic, whose app market is crap, with many ones not giving support yet (for example, You Tube) or just not present (Disney+). Or it could at least tell us, where to increase the log messages so as to trace it further.Last Black Friday I got an Amazon Fire Stick for just 19,99€. If you can provide the ScummVM related log messages (DEBUG level) when running the app before it crashes - and the corresponding trace log for the crash, it could indicate where the issue lies. I think the best way to fix the issue, would indeed be for someone to be able to debug it directly on the device that has the issue. Thank you for providing this additional info. And it does require permission to read the local storage, just after allowing is when it fails. If that helps and someone can help me, I can try debug it, maybe help the development team.īy the way, after installing I can see the ScummVM orange screen and then goes back to the home, no messages at all. A small format device that does not offer compatibility with all current streaming services in 4K HDR quality. If I can help debuging some way I do have some Flutter coding skills and I'm familiar with ADB. by Kim 12 Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the new Amazon TV-Stick that we present today its analysis or review. Latest FireTV 4K Stick works perfect with all versions, but the previous gen 4K (square one) for some reason doesn't start with any newer version that this one:Ģ.0.0 Android package (all architectures)Īnd it needs to be the ALL version. The other device also runs the same OS it seems:ĭid you try with one of the recent developer builds (2.3.0git)? This page says that the 3rd gen one runs the equivalent of Android 7.1 (FireOS 6) so it should be within the supported range: I'm afraid I am not able to tell what is wrong, without a debug trace, and/or probably the device at hand to be able to test on it. Thanks for your help and keep ScummVM growing, I love playing old classics on it. ![]() Is there any other version package that could be missing ? I tried both version of the latests ScummVM (v7 and v8) but both crash on start. Both have 64 bits but the FireOS Kernel is 32 bits I think. It seems both have Cortex A53 but one is AMLOGIC (Fire TV pendant 3RD GEN) and the other MEDIATEK (Fire TV Stick 4K 1ST GEN). The only version I can run on the 3rd GEN is the "2.0.0 Android package (all architectures)" found on old versions.Ĭan someone help me identify what could be the problem ? Here are both FireTV specs. But doing the same to the 3rd Gen Fire TV doesn't. I transfer the ScummVM latest version from my Samsung J7 phone to the FireTV Stick 4K and it works. Hi, I'm having a similar problem with my FireTV. ![]()
